Day 12 – Arrival into Cape Town, South Africa

After a long and tedious flight through Johannesburg, we finally made it to Cape Town, South Africa and took a cab to our hotel, the Cape Royale located on the V-A Waterfront. The pictures speak for themselves, but what is most impressive is that we got this room for $430 for three nights!(That’s $71 per person per night). They even rung a gong when we entered, and announced that “Lord Sheth and Lord Ram have arrived”. Dollars go a long way here…

To sum up Cape Town, think of it as a giant Santa Barbara, Carmel-By-The-Sea, or San Diego Waterfront, and you get the idea. The entire city is coastal due to being on a very narrow peninsula, and has a very coastal port atmosphere. Cape Town has all the amenities of any First World Country, easily equaling the US. We felt right at home, apart from driving on the wrong side of the road. In short it’s awesome, and we both agreed that this would be an amazing place to live.

After checking in, we took a walk on the Waterfront before eating some delicious pizza at one of the many waterfront restaurants.
