Day 0 – Arrival into Moshi, Tanzania

Tonight we flew in to the town of Moshi via Kilimanjaro International Airport, which was about 45 minutes from the Mountain Inn Hotel that we’re staying at. We arrived late at night, and traffic was non-existent. The Mountain Inn is a simple hotel with an outdoorsy feel. The restaurant is open air, and all of the rooms are in individual buildings, with access from outdoor paths. The facilities could be better though. We have a toilet whose flush is temperamental, and a cold water shower…despite being promised hot water. We’re making do, but we’re not too happy with the state of things. It’s not such a big deal now, but we’re going to be really pissed if we have cold water showers waiting for us when we return from the climb. The staff is friendly & the beds are comfortable though, so that’s a plus.

BTW, if you’re wondering why we spell Afrika with a K, it is because that is how The Cool spell it, and the proper pronounciation is: Ahhh-free-kaah. Consider yourselves informed.
